The system is intended for precise measurement of the outer diameter and roundness

Laser measurement system measures the outer dimensions of the rods, shafts, pipes, rolling tools and other products having the shape of the shaft. After measurements the software of the system forms a CNC program for a grinding/sanding machine.

The object is installed in the live centers of the systems for measurement. The type of inspection is specified: continuous scanning or inspection over sections. The process is fully automated. The sensor based on a high quality laser micrometer determines the outer diameter with accuracy of 0.1 µm.

The scanning is performed by moving the sensor along the measured object on a precision linear actuator (magnetic road) with simultaneous rotation of the object.
